Information for Vehicle Pick-Up
Hamilton Airport Pick-Up Procedures During Business Hours (8:00 am to 6:00 pm)
Simply call us when you arrive on 0800 00 11 10 or +64 21 310 771 and proceed to
the collection area for pickup.
- Arrivals – Our pickup location is next to the Car Park Pay Station (see image
below) - Look out for a vehicle displaying the Hire Vehicle Transfer and a staff member
in blue Hireace uniform.
Hamilton Airport Pick-Up Procedures During Afterhours (6:00 pm to 8:00 am)
Your vehicle will be parked at the Airport carpark allocated to rental cars (this area is located at the far left of the carpark as you exit the terminal).
Step 1: Exit the Terminal
Once you arrive at Hamilton Airport and collect your luggage, walk straight out of the main terminal doors.
Step 2: Head Towards the Car Parks
- From the front of the terminal, follow the signs towards Main Car Park A.
- Cross at the pedestrian crossing/footpath that leads towards the Rental Car Pickup Area.
- This walkway runs alongside the bus stop and pay station.
Step 3: Locate the Rental Car Pickup Area
Continue following the footpath into the Rental Car Pickup zone (highlighted in yellow on the map).
Important: You won’t see our Trip, BRC, or Hireace logos from the direction you are walking. They are only displayed on the opposite side of the sign. Keep going – you’re in the right place.
Step 4: Access the vehicle
The vehicle will be locked by a window mounted lock box.
The registration of the vehicle and three digit code to the lock box will be emailed to you prior to you landing.
Enter the code to collect your keys.
Please place the window mounted lock box in the central compartment or glove box.
Step 5: Drive Away
- Once you’ve collected your keys and checked your vehicle, you’re ready to start your journey.
- Please feel free to take some photos or videos of the vehicle(s) before you depart the airport. Our team will do the same when the vehicle is delivered to the location.
Hamilton Airport Drop-Off Procedures During Business Hours (8:00am to 6:00pm)
- Drive your car to our 132 Ossie James Drive, which is only 600 meters from Terminal. One of our friendly staff will check your vehicle in and ensure all paperwork and documentation is up to date. We will then take you to the Airport.
- Please allow an extra sixty (60) minutes before your required checkin/reporting time of your flight so we can be sure of getting you to the Terminal in good time.
- If you flight is at 8am or before, we strongly suggest you use our out of hours service to ensure you make your flight.
- Please refer to the information below for our out of hours service.
- Please ensure the fuel tank of the vehicle is full. If the vehicle is not filled with fuel there will be an additional $50.00 refuelling charge in addition to the actual fuel cost. This cost will be on-charged to your credit card at the time of return.
- Nearest gas station is Waitomo Mystery Creek at Corner Ohaupo &, Airport Road, Hamilton 3282
- This gas station is unattended and you will need a debit or credit card for payment
- Other additional charges may apply if the vehicle is returned in an unreasonably condition. These costs will be on-charged to your credit card at the time of return.
Hamilton Airport Drop-Off Procedures During Afterhours (6:00pm to 8:00am)
Step 1: Park the Vehicle
When you arrive at Hamilton Airport, please park the vehicle in one of the designated Trip / BRC / Hireace bays (1, 2, or 3) located in the Rental Car Pickup zone.

Step 2: Lock the Vehicle
- Before leaving, double-check that:
- All belongings are removed.
- All windows are closed.
- The vehicle is locked securely.
Step 3: Return the Keys
- Go to the Key Safe Box located on the pole beside the designated parking spaces.
- Lift the flap of the Key Safe.
- Drop your keys inside the slot.
- Close the flap again.
Please ensure the fuel tank of the vehicle is full. If the vehicle is not filled with fuel there will be an additional $50.00 refuelling charge in addition to the actual fuel cost. This cost will be on-charged to your credit card at the time of return.
Other additional charges may apply if the vehicle is returned in an unreasonable condition. These costs will be on-charged to your credit card at the time of return.
Step 4: You’re Done!
That’s it — you’re all set. You can now continue on your way to the terminal.
